Can't believe it was just a couple years ago!

I remember waking up on Tuesdays at my 9-5 thinking, "Okay just make it a couple more days until the weekend.."

Before trudging along to a job I knew didn't fulfill me.

It's crazy to me to think that this was only a couple years ago!

Even crazier is everything that has happened since!

Starting a coaching business has completely transformed my life!

I've spent more time with family

Confidence starts with these actions...

When I started creating my coaching business, I was constantly doubting myself:

Whether my content was good enough

Whether I knew enough

If I would fail

If I was way over my head

Even though I loved what I did, showing up every day was so stressful!

Those doubts and fears were constantly chirping in my head preventing me from stepping into my strength, my courage, and my confidence.

Making me procrastinate and sabotage.

At the end of the day, it was preventing me from creating the coaching business and impact I wanted to create.

I knew I couldn’t let that stop me. So here’s what I did:

🚀 I started ignoring what everyone else was doing and focused on creating content I loved, that I was proud of, and that was fun for me to make!

🚀 I put blinders on and fully focused on my ideal client and what they find important – and I created more of that.

🚀 I invested in coaches and mentors that pushed me to step into my strength. That didn’t just teach me what to do, but pushed me to do it as myself. To show up as myself with conviction.

🚀 I showed up every day, no matter how I felt, to do 100% of how much I had to give that day.

Because I did that work, today I get to show up:

Excited to create content that I know will convert into clients I love.

Knowing exactly what I need to do to bring in interested clients.

Feeling honored I get to make an impact in women’s lives.

With confidence and conviction in myself and my abilities – knowing nothing can stop me from doing what I love.

When you get it, you really get it. I heard this

When you get it, you really get it.

I heard this phrase so many times, it annoyed me.

The phrase I follow to stand out to my ideal client is: “Be your authentic self.”

Have you ever heard the phrase, “People buy from people they know, like, & trust.”?

Well it’s absolutely true.

But here’s the key point: People can tell when we’re being authentic.

How? Seeing someone acting inauthentic is like seeing someone wearing a dress 4 sizes too small. It’s fine, but something just doesn’t fit.

Your ideal client resonates with YOU.

When you show up as your authentic self, people feel that energy. People are attracted to that confidence!

But I didn’t know what my authentic self was for a long time.

So I didn’t get the phrase, “Be your authentic self.”

But now that I do, the difference is huge!

Here are tell-tale signs you’re not clear on your authentic self:

You see another coach/OSP doing really well and their colours are so different – so you start changing your colours
You see someone doing really well dancing on reels so you start dancing on reels.
Someone is using tons of emojis, so you start using tons of emojis.

Basically, you’re all over the place because you’re trying on different styles of everything the same way we try on dresses at Zara.

But when we’re our authentic selves, we know exactly what suits us.

For ex, I know leopard prints & most prints just aren’t me.
I know I’m not a person who uses emojis very much.
I know I like a crisp, sharp, black & white esthetic on my Instagram because that’s like me.
I know I like blue skies, blue water, & cappuccinos. That’s in my content a lot.
I know I’m not bubbly or girly & I don’t try to be any longer.

I know I’m all about empowering women with the confidence & strategy to build a thriving business with a full client roster.

Take some time to figure out your “I know’s”

Don’t forget that figuring out what is NOT your authentic self, is just as powerful as what IS your authentic self.

And then show up as her.

It feels so much more natural!
It feels so much easier to be consistent!

And our ideal clients see this!
That’s how we stand out!

Easy content creation that converts is reality.

But this wasn't always the case for me.

I used to sit in front of my laptop for hours watching that clicker click away on Word, wondering what in the world to write about today??

I felt so overwhelmed because getting clients for my new business felt so important! It mattered to me! And I didn’t want to fail!

Plus there was so much advice out there about do it like this! Or do it like that! No, this is definitely the best way to do it!

But which one would actually get a potential client to raise their hand???

It took me a while to figure it out.

A lot of trial and error, a lot of learning, and a lot of investing in growth.

But now that I know the content types that are the best for growing my business, content creation is so much easier! It takes me about 30 mins (an hour if I want to get fancy with reels or Canva haha) to create a really great post!

But here’s the thing that’s more important to me…more important than any DMs I get…

Creating content is now fun!

More powerful? Big change vs small tweak?

Rewind back just a couple of years to when I was just starting my journey from a 9-5er to coach.

I was excited! I was terrified!

It meant so much to me to be able to start coaching women (I was doing mindset coaching at the time)!

So I went out there, invested in business coaching, put on my student attitude and learned EVERYTHING about how to start getting clients!

But after a while when it wasn’t working… we couldn’t figure out why.

Here’s the big lesson I then learned:

Sometimes it's not in the huge changes we have to make, but in the small shifts that makes a huge difference!

When I looked at my beliefs about what I was doing, they were not at all in line with what I was trying to achieve.

That by itself may not be detrimental, but the fact is that that comes off in everything we do.

It came off in my content, in my discovery calls, in my messages, everywhere.

Once I dealt with those beliefs…I immediately noticed a difference in how I showed up!

And that translated to the quality and energy behind all the things I mentioned.. my content, how I showed up on calls, everywhere.

Working with clients later, both in mindset and business now, I noticed these same beliefs coming up for my clients when they start working with me.

They’re so common! Especially in women who used to be straight A model students in school! (yup! Me!)

Working through these beliefs always causes a big shift for my clients just like it did for me!

Struggling to decide whether to go ALL-IN to make a profitable business from your passion? Read this:

Life’s just a series of choices. We make it complicated.

Do I stay at the job at my 9-5 or leave?
Do I pursue my passion and make it profitable or not?
Do I travel the world as a digital nomad?

You either do something or not.

Making the choice is not difficult. We’re the ones that complicate it.

Leave the 9-5? Can I survive without it financially? No.➡️ Don’t leave until have another source of income.
Pursue my passion? Will I regret never having tried it? Yes. ➡️ Go after it all-in unapologetically.
Do I become a digital nomad? Do I want to, can I afford to? Yes. ➡️ Start looking for your first destination!

The first step is making the choice.

The second is getting moving in whatever direction your choice is!

You’ll know whether it was the right choice soon enough.

But you’ll never know what the right choice is by sitting there wondering.

I woke up & it seemed like it was going to be a great day. The sun was shining, I was energized to work. Ready to work on making a profit from my passion!

But as the morning passed, I saw myself slip into the cozy, comfy, “I don’t feel like it.”
I kind of felt tired & kind of just wanted to binge-watch Only Murders in the Building… again. Haha

It’s so easy to slip into that feeling.

Especially if you’re like me & you struggle with being disciplined.

Here’s what I do on those days:

1. I remember why I’m making a profit from my passion in the first place.

It doesn’t have to be altruistic or make sense to other people. It just has to be important enough for you.
My why is because I want to empower the good girls in the world to stand up to build a life they want, not the life they think they “should” settle for.

2. I look to the environment I’ve created to make sure I don’t have to rely on discipline to take action.

More powerful than discipline or motivation is our environment. Research has shown how much of an effect it has on us. Structure your environment to make it easier to take action. Especially on the days when we don’t feel like it.
For me, this looks like not sitting down on the couch in the morning – that’s my cozy TV watching spot & not turning on my laptop because I’ll watch shows. Instead I keep my Kobo out to read a book in the morning.

3. I give myself something to look forward to that day.

Not every day in our business is going to be a home run. In fact, most days won’t. So it’s important to have something to look forward to, to reward ourselves.
For me, this could be a walk along the river in the evening, or chocolate that night while I watch Death in Paradise (anyone else into murder mysteries?!)

Business can be hard.

It’s NORMAL to not feel like it every day.
It’s not a sign that you’re not meant to do it.
It’s not a sign that you’re not good enough/strong enough to do it.

It’s a sign that there’s an opportunity to put in place some systems that will make it possible for you to show up and do your awesome work to make a profit from your passion!

Being successful in pursuing your passion is often not about taking the steps to success...
But about overcoming the fears preventing you from moving forward.

Does this sound familiar?

You sit down to work on your passion, & you have so many excuses:
• I’m just not in the mood right now
• I don’t have the time right now
• Ugh this is so overwhelming! There’s too much to do!
• I’ll do it tomorrow
• I’m too tired from work
• I wonder what's new on Netflix!

I get it because these were the same things I was telling myself.

But the problem is not actually time, mood, or motivation.

The problem is fear.
Fear that you won’t be good enough
Fear that you aren’t good enough to succeed
Fear that you will fail
Fear that others will judge you
Fear that you don’t know enough

It’s these fears that are keeping you spinning your wheels.

It's not about doing more. It's about...

The fact that one day we’ll wake up & it will be too late to write that book, start that business, pursue that passion, etc… And we’ll regret never having taken action to make it a reality.

Time is the only commodity we have that we can never get more of. That makes it the most precious.

Yet we don’t treat it like that.

We always think there will be more time.

We think we’ll work on our passion tomorrow.
We’ll create a business in the future.
We’ll write that book “one day.”

But while we’re making these excuses, time is going by.

And one day we’ll get to a point where it will be too late.

It will be too late to create a life where we are living our purpose, where we are happy & excited to wake up every day making a living doing what we love!

That’s why the biggest regret people have in life is: "I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me."

But the thing is that it REALLY does not have to be like this.

It is possible to take massive action TODAY to turn your passion into reality today!

Taking clear, massive confident action steps forward is the way to make sure that you live a life true to yourself & avoid that regret of never having taken the bold chance on yourself.

That’s what I did and what I help my clients achieve: make their passion a reality & make it profitable so they can live their best life doing what they LOVE!

❌ And this isn’t accomplished by quitting your job right away & throwing the dice.
❌ It isn’t accomplished by working harder insane hours.
❌ It isn’t accomplished by taking risky moves & risking going broke.

It IS accomplished by:
1.Having the exact roadmap with concrete steps that will lead you to make your passion profitable.
2.The skills that will allow you to create the time to actually work on your passion on top of your 9-5.
3. The mental skills that will give you the strength, confidence, and agility to do the above steps with ease & clarity.

That's how you ensure you wake up one day & think, "I'm so happy I had the courage to live a life true to myself!"

Making it past the fear starts with... being will

Making it past the fear starts with...

being willing to do the work to overcome it.

It’s not always easy. It wasn’t for me. I had to look introspectively to see what the actual problem was.

Trying to adjust my behaviour, force myself to do it, increase my discipline, just didn’t work.

Because the underlying problem was still there.

So if that’s you, and you’re judging yourself, like I did, for not being able to “just do it,” like so many aspiring coaches and entrepreneurs, the solution could very well be in doing this introspective work.

Once I finally did the work, and got out of my own way, it led me to:

- Doing what I absolutely love every day & making a profit from it! Bye-bye 9-5!

- Travelling the world with my partner, & meeting up with family at exotic destinations!

- Have the freedom to set my schedule how I want it!

- Spend more time with family!

All from the bold decision to let my heart run free and chase after my biggest dreams!

Confession time: I used to believe I had to be excited in order to show up for my business until I discovered...

You can love something, but you don’t have to love everything about it.

You can love something, but you don’t have to love it every moment of every day.

The main reason I decided to leave the 9-5 life was to pursue my passion.

To wake up excited to do what I love, what makes me happy.

Yes, I also wanted the freedom of being able to create my own schedule, travel the world whenever I wanted (& not when I get vacation approval from my boss!), make an impact…

But it was the joy of doing what I loved, of sitting down and having the hours fly by that was the driving motivation.

And I naively thought I would feel like this every moment of the day AND every day.

But here’s the thing:

With anything we do, there are going to be tasks that we like less.

There are going to be days when we just don’t feel like it.

There are going to be moments when we’re just too tired to care.

What we have to remember is that the whole is bigger than the parts.

For example, sure I don’t really enjoy lead generation, but I LOVE getting on coaching calls with my clients and leading them to a breakthrough.

Some days, I don’t feel inspired to create an Instagram post, but I LOVE getting on discovery calls where we might change a woman’s life for the better forever!

So remember, doing what we love, following our passion every day is a privilege.

Making a profit from our passion is a skill and made of taking actions every day.

When we do this, we get to not only do what we love, we get to create that freedom lifestyle that we want!

However that looks for us!

For me, this recently looked like taking 10 days off to tour the French Riviera!

This is a really common misconception I hear: that

This is a really common misconception I hear: that being responsible as an adult means you have to pull up your big girl pants and stay on your current career path even if you know it makes you unhappy.

BUT:

Just because you’ve done something up until now…
Just because you’ve been defined by one career until now…
Just because you’ve been known as one type of person until now…

Does not mean you have to stay on this path.

Deciding to pursue your passion, does not make you an irresponsible adult.

Taking charge and deciding to pursue your passion, deciding to pursue what makes you happy, IS adulting correctly.

It is pulling your big girl pants up.
It is being responsible for your own life.
It is being responsible for your happiness.

What’s one thing you can do today to be responsible for pursuing your passion?

It doesn't have to be perfect, but it has to be action.

Each year had its own struggles.

While 2021 was exciting with the possibilities of making a profit from my passion, 2022 was all about learning. There was so much to learn! Marketing, sales, content creation, SEO, on & on!

In hindsight, that was the easy part, because 2023 was the catch-up year. It was the year where the gap in my mindset with where I was in my business was causing cracks to form.

The work I still needed to do about my beliefs about money, about myself, my worth, doubts & fears, all came to a boiling point.

Perfectionism, imposter syndrome, fear of failure, fear of judgement… all these “self-protection” strategies were starting to break.

Initially, I wanted to do what I’ve always done & keep pushing through. Force myself to show up & do the work. That’s what I’ve always done. That’s what got me through medical school.

But I realized this was different. I knew if I didn’t take a break from my business for a bit, I would soon completely burn out or I would develop an illness (read Gabor Mate).

So I took the time to do the work of catching up mentally with my mindset.

Yes, it absolutely broke me.

But had I not gone through each & every one of these seasons, I would not be where I am today.

Yes, I had to go through the growing pains of realizing I no longer wanted to spend my life in medicine (even though there were many things about it I loved.)

Yes, I had to go through the growing pains of learning TONS of business skills.

And yes, I ESPECIALLY had to go through the growing pains of letting myself grow into my authentic self unapologetically. (This was the hardest!)

But it all got me to 2024 where I’m creating this new shift for this year by:

Trusting my intuition
Putting in even more work on my mindset
Focusing on taking massive action

Here’s what you need to know:

Sometimes we’re in a learning & growing season.

And then sometimes, it’s time to bring it all together & take massive action!

Recognize which one you’re in.

Remember: nothing lasts forever.

If you’re in a learning & growing season, take advantage of the hard. Get help. Focus on getting better.

If you’re in a massive action season go in with all your heart!
